Eaves and more eaves!

Today, (Saturday) the framers put in 10 hours. They are working on putting the sides of the house on and putting on that wrap that goes under the stucco and rock. As well as still putting the roof together. I am afraid this house is their worst nightmare! They told us today that there are 41 different pitches in the roof. It is quite eccentric. It makes me cringe to see those guys 24 feet in the air. They have the eaves on, on the east side of the house. They are supposed to put in some more hours tomorrow, (Sunday.) The windows should be here on Wednesday.
Day 32 - The front now.

This is the East side, where the guest room, side porch, garage and driveway are.

The kitchen is starting to take shape. This is of the bar.
Will post again tomorrow!

Working on the roof trusses

The second floor is almost complete! Now, they are working on the trusses for the roof and getting it ready for shingles! The upstairs balcony is almost done too, and the view is awesome from up there!
Day 30 - These are the windows that are on the back porch.

This is the back of the house now. Look at that tiny person way up there!

This is of the side porch and the "tower." I am standing where the driveway will be.

Here are the girls playing in saw dust in the garage. What fun! They were entertained!

We now have stairs and most of the second floor framed. The roof trusses over the garage are complete.
Day 27 -

Here is Lee standing on the balcony in the "infamous" study.

This is a view of the back.

Our current view from the street.

Check back soon, I will get some more pictures soon. The girls made it impossible to get any today. They started working on the roof and have the other staircase done!

First floor almost complete

They have almost completed framing the first floor. It is starting to look real! It brought tears to my eyes when I walked up for the first time! I still can't believe it is really happening. Still haven't taken a breath yet!
Day 25 -
This is the garage.

The floor trusses got delivered.

Here is a view of the back with the first floor framed.

This is how it looks inside...just a sea of 2x4's!

Check back..they are framing the second floor on Monday!

We have a foundation!

We now have a foundation! Wow! That was fast! It actually rained for 2 1/2 hours straight in the middle of pouring. They had to cover the concrete with huge plastic sheets and wait it out. Luckily, the rain stopped just in time. (We thought the rain wouldn't be here until the evening, we started at 6:30 am.) It ended up taking 190 yards of cement. According to our builder, I guess that is a lot.
Day 21 -

Here is the front of the house...so far.
Day 23 -

And here is the back patio.

Lastly, this is the view that we will see every morning off the patio and master bedroom! It is truly priceless. Okay, so we are a little biased! If you click on the picture, you can see it better. On the left side is the 16th tee and off to the right is the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

Check back in a few days. We should have the first floor trusses done this weekend and the 2nd floor starts on Monday!

Wow! Where did the year go?

I haven't blogged in over a year! What happened?

Well, let's see. Corinne is now 3 1/2, still doing ballet and now tap. She loves to dance and sing! She is writing her name by herself! I can't believe it! Claire is 22 months and quite the stinker! She loves to flash those big brown eyes at you and then get herself into trouble. She also loves to sing. She and Corinne can put on quite the concert. Lee is still super busy. I am still working in the ICU, I have added a few shifts to my every Friday routine. I still love it and will just keep going until I don't enjoy it anymore. We have finally decided to build our dream house. It's been over 2 years in the making. In fact, we sign today on the construction loan. The builder that we selected is great! We have been waiting over 8 weeks to get to this point, the underwriters are bogged down with all the refinancing that is going on. So, in the mean time, our builder has had us using this time to make all the selections for the new house. So, when the time comes, the decisions have already been made and we won't be scrambling to compromise on something.
Lastly, we have a new addition to our family. Meet Sir Bentley LeRoy. He is a Springer Spaniel. We brought him home about 3 weeks ago. Right now, he is 11 weeks old. He has won over all of our hearts!
